voici les résultats de l'élection d'un nouveau logo: Le gagnant est le logo numéro 11 (proposition du committée directeur), mais quand il n'as pas atteint 10 votes, on reste (comme prévu pour cette cas) avec le vieux logo, et recommence a discuter. Vous trouvez les votes pour tous logos au dessous.

hier die Resultate der Wahl eines neuen Logos: Gewinner ist die Nummer 11 (der Vorschlag des Vorstandes), aber da er keine 10 Stimmen erreicht hat bleiben wir (wie für diesen Fall vorgesehen) beim alten Logo, und nehmen die Diskussion neu auf. Die Stimmverteilung findet sich unten.

Hello dear throwers,

please find the results of the logo election: the winner is number 11 (the committees proposal).
But this logo could not achieve at least 10 votes as a minimum (what was the requirement). Therefore we keep the current old one. The discussion will go on.

Vote for a new Logo

On the Members Meeting 2005, we decided that we want to have a new logo for the club, and that there will be a vote by all members on what logo to choose.

The managing committee has received numerous proposals for a new logo and has worked together with the submitting members to get improved versions. Some versions were also presented on these webpages for discussion. Not all proposals are presented here, but those that were considered by the members and committee to be the best fitting. There are 3 Logos by Frank Salonius because he was so kind to make many different versions according to different wishes.

The logo for our club should have some features:
*As we are called "Flying Blades", it would be nice to have this reflected in the logo, for example by a feather and a knife.
*The logo must be very simple so that it can be easily recognised, even when being tiny.
*For an outsider, it should be immediately clear what our club is about, even when he does not know the name and just sees the logo.

Having looked at and discussed all the proposals, the managing committee (Norbert Maier, Christian Thiel, Philippe Catania) came to the conclusion that the Logo #11 by Frank Salonius would be the best one for our club. It contains the feather, is scalable to very big or very little, and shows what the sport is about, with the target underlining that we are indeed a sport club and not dangerous. '''For this reasons, the managing committe thinks logo #11 would be the best logo.'''

Procedure: Each member has one vote. Each member will receive an email from the vote organiser, Michael Pahl, and will tell him for which logo (number) he casts his vote. If no logo has 10 or more votes in its favor, there will be further discussions and proposals and a vote later that year.

Abstimmung über ein neues Logo

Auf der Mitgliederversammlung 2005 wurde entschieden, dass wir ein neues Logo für den Verein brauchen, und dass alle Mitglieder in einer Wahl das Logo bestimmen würden.

Der Vorstand hat zahlreich Vorschläge für ein neues Logo erhalten, und hat mit den jeweiligen Mitgliedern zusammengearbeitet, um die vorgeschlagenen Logos noch zu verbessern. Einige Versionen wurden auf diesen Webseiten zur Diskussion gestellt. Nicht alle Vorschläge werden hier zur Wahl gestellt, sondern nur diejenigen, die von Mitgliedern und Vorstand als die passendsten angesehen wurden. Es stehen 3 Logos von Frank Saloius zur Wahl, weil er so freundlich war, auf unterschiedliche Wünsche einzugehen.

Das Vereinslogo sollte einige Eigenschaften haben:

• Wir nennen uns "Fliegende Klingen", was sich im Logo zeigen sollte, beispielsweise durch eine Feder und ein Messer.
• Das Logo muss einfach und klar sein, damit es leicht wiedererkannt wird, auch wenn es z.B. nur ganz klein zu sehen ist.
• Für einen Außenstehenden muss sofort klar sein, worum es bei unserem Verein geht, auch wenn er den Namen nicht kennt und nur das Logo sieht.

Nachdem er sich alle Vorschläge angesehen und diskutiert hat, kam der Vorstand (Norbert Maier, Christian Thiel, Philippe Catania) zu der Ansicht, dass das Logo Nummer 11 von Frank Salonius am Besten für den Verein geeignet wäre. Es beinhaltet eine Feder und ein Messer, lässt sich auf Fußballfeldgröße und Briefmarkengröße skalieren, und zeigt klar worum es bei dem Sport geht. Durch das stilisierte Ziel wird noch unterstrichen, dass wir ein Sport sind und nicht gefährlich. '''Aus diesen Gründen ist der Vorstand der Meinung, dass das Logo #11 das Beste für den Verein ist.'''

Verfahren: Jedes Mitglied hat eine Stimme. Jedes Mitglied erhält vom Wahlleiter (Michael Pahl) eine Email, und antwortet mit der Nummer des Logos, für das es stimmt. Falls kein Logo 10 oder mehr Stimmen auf sich vereinen kann, gibt es weitere Diskussionen und es werden weitere Vorschläge eingeholt, um später im Jahr noch eine Wahl abzuhalten.

Votez pour un nouveau Logo

Apropos de l'assemblée générale 2005 on a dédidé qu'il faut avoir un nouveau logo pour le club, et qu'il y aura une élection ou tous les membres peuvent décider a propos le nouveau logo.

Le comité directeur a récu pas mal des propositions pour un nouveau logo, et a travaillé avec les membres qui on envoyé les propositions pour les améliorer. Quelques versiones ont etés prensentés dans ces pages web pour discussion. Pour la vote, on présente seulement les versions qui ont eté décidé d'être les meilleures par le comité et les membres. Il y a 3 propositions par Frank Salonius car il a fait des modifications pour satisfaire des demandes différentes.

Le logo du club devrait avoir les qualités suivantes:

• On s'appelle "Lames Volantes", et on aimait de voir ca dans le logo, par example avec une plume et un couteau.
• Le logo devrait être très simple, de facon qu'on peut facilement le reconnaitre, même si le logo et seulement vu très petit.
• Même pour une personne extérieure, il faut être claire tout de suite ce qu'on fait dans le club, même si la personne ne connait pas le nom mais voit seulement le logo.

Ayant régardé à et discutés tous les propositions, le comité directeur (Norbert Maier, Christian Thiel, Philippe Catania) a décidé que le logo #11 par Frank Salonius serait le mieux pour le club. Il a la plume, on peut changer la taille de petit à très grand, et il montre clairement ce qu'on fait dans notre sport, avec le cible montrant que nous sommes un sport et pas dangereus. '''Pour ces raisons, le comité pense que le logo numéro 11 est le mieux logo pour le club.'''

Procédé: Chaque membre a un vote. Chaque membre va recevoir un email de l'organisator du vote, Michael Pahl, et va répondre avec le numéro du logo pour lequelle il vote. Si aucun logo recoit 10 votes ou plus, il y auront des autres discussions et propositions et une autre élection cette année.

High All EuroThrowers of Flying Blades and anything else as long as it is Peaceful and harmless.

If the shituation is as what comes out below [Email from Norbert that all members received] I like to withdraw my earlier vote (# 5 , my own) and acknowledge Norman his right to redesign ( even if there already had been lots of time) a new and more uptodate logo before any voting takes place again.

The old logo should have been an option too to vote for.

So I hereby withdraw my vote and grant Norman his right to quickly, within reasonable time to redesign the old logo into a new one, and then an other voting can take place.

NB: A little suggestion in the name EuroThrowers. let the "T" be an Initial.

It is extremely important that we, the few of us, who are EuroThrowers get a everlasting long lived logo of highest quality and harmony between the essence of art and sport.

Give Norman a chance to work out a better version as he envision it, before eliminating it.

The logo

We are currently looking for a good logo for the club. As we are called "Flying Blades", it would be nice to have this reflected in the logo, for example by a feather and a knife. Also, the logo must be very simple, so that it can be easily recognised, and must hence not be too delicate, with too many lines. Or, best solution, we opt to have a logo that has many details when shown on a big poster, but less details when shown like here on a website or the membership card.

Le Logo

On cherche un logo propre pour le club "Lames volantes". Un couteau et la plume iront pas mal. Mais, le logo doit être simple pour être reconnu facilement, alors on ne peut pas mettre trop de détails. Autre solutions, d'avoir des détails pour le grand plan, et quand on le met dans une care de membre, on laisse les détails.

The third logo is a modified version of Franks proposal. Jean did it because he likes to have a real throwing knife in the logo.
Christian Thiel: I would like a more generic one, we don't want to promote a special brand of throwing knife (Viper).
Christian Thiel: Very nice, the generic knife #4. The blue color does not look too bad, and as Jean suggested, it is not as bloodlike/aggressive like red.

I like #2 one very much. It shows clearly what we are about, and even has the feather for ''flying blades''. Also, it can be scaled down and used as a sign on websites/letters, and can be scaled very big, due to its design and also it is available in vector format. (Christian Thiel)

Number 3 is a new edition, after the vote in August. It has a generic throwing knife in it, as some people wanted a throwing knife and not a kitchen knife.
Number 4 has also a generic throwing knife, but the target is bigger and the shadow broken.

J'aime bien #2! Très claire, et ca montre ce qu'on est, on lance des couteaux, même la plume est dedans.

What Frank says about his own logos:

My strong opinion about the logo as a graphicdesigner is that the knife should be non-recognizable knife compared to any known or specific throwing knife. Logo should be red/white/black (because these are good, clear, neutral and pleasant colors for an eye) and I think that the knife really should be "right size" compared to the target, not as big as the target it self or even bigger. I also think that the "feather shadow" should be cut down at the end of the target like real shadow would do, to make the logo look like more "realistic" and not as a piece of artwork or some other modern artistic design, but… still, these are only my opinions and I did make some other versions too as you can see based on what people asked me to do. BUT in case you will vote sometime soon and I'm not available or you cannot reach me, my vote goes for sure for logo number: Logo F. Salonius #4
